Ep. 114: Sayaka Dominates Khrushchev in Barcelona While Yawara’s Absence Causes Concern

Jigoro visits the Judo World Championship in Barcelona with little interest. Jody asks Matsuda about Yawara’s no-show default, while rivals Teleshikova, Khrushchev, Li-China, and Gonzalez-Cuba express frustration over her absence. Sayaka dislikes the accommodations and wishes to quit, but Kojiro commands her to continue her world judo training, promising to coach her until she faces Yawara again. Yawara confesses to Fujiko her fear that a judo-trained daughter might break up their family, and Fujiko learns Kojiro coaches Sayaka. At the stadium, Sayaka wears a red bullfighter outfit and claims she can defeat Khrushchev in ten seconds. She easily dominates the match for a quick victory, leading Jigoro to assert that Kojiro remains only the world’s second-best coach.
