30
Kuniko persistently harasses Matsuda, using tears and alcohol to force him home, where she attempts to share a bed while he sleeps outside. Her clingy behavior during meetings with Yawara and Jigoro provokes jealousy and disgust in Yawara. At the Zen-ooki tournament, Yawara becomes severely distracted by the presence of Matsuda, Kuniko, Shinnosuke, and Sayaka. While the men are unaware of their impact, the women intend to disrupt her. This distraction nearly causes Yawara to lose her first match. In the final bout, she secures a victory despite being distracted, but sprains her right wrist. This injury potentially prevents her from writing the entrance exam the following day, as she cannot write with her left hand.
