Despite learning of Shinnosuke’s engagement to Sayaka, Matsuda fails to convince Yawara that he is a playboy. Shinnosuke is seen with other girlfriends like Hiromi, Mayumi, Mieko, and Mariko, claiming he loves them and was forced into the engagement. Yawara informs Coach Yuutenji, who meets Jigoro monthly to reinforce the Sakai College connection, that she is attending Sakai. Seeing Yawara depressed, Matsuda asks Shinnosuke to cheer her up, offering to cover for him with Sayaka. Shinnosuke dates Yawara, repeating lies about being trapped and loving only her. They are chosen as the couple of the day on TV, which Sayaka sees. Sayaka pursues the pair while Matsuda runs interference.
