Ep. 29: Jigoro opposes Yawara's college choice while Matsuda deals with a disruptive photographer partner

Jigoro attempts to destroy application materials for Mitsuba Women's College to oppose Yawara's decision to attend Sakai. Jody sends a cheerful letter to Yawara, noting recovery and warning that Teleshikova is a strong opponent. Matsuda is assigned a rookie photographer, Kaga Kuniko, who uses crying and rumors to manipulate him. Shinnosuke rehearses canceling his engagement while Sayako shops for dresses. Kuniko, sensing Matsuda's feelings for Yawara, disrupts their meeting by claiming to be his girlfriend. This revelation upsets Yawara, who realizes she may have feelings for Matsuda and feels inferior to Kuniko's appearance. Jigoro strikes a deal with Yawara: he approves her Mitsuba College entrance exam in exchange for her entering the Zen-ooki judo tournament. Yawara agrees, believing this secures her attendance at Mitsuba, valuing her grandfather's approval despite her protests.
