During a practice tournament, Musashiyama members suffer quick defeats, leaving Hanazono with only one victory. Yawara is compelled to compete against the eager Ganryuji judo team. Although she intends to lose quickly, she effortlessly defeats her opponents using various judo techniques. Her focus is divided by thoughts of a bargain sale with friends and the discomfort of wrestling without a t-shirt under her uniform. She ultimately pins Sasaki, the Ganryuji captain ranked third in high school judo in Japan. Concurrently, her friends participate in wrestling matches at the sale. Matsuda and Yamoda, who were spying on the event, are discovered by Jigoro and imprisoned alongside a captured Musashiyama member, preventing them from securing a major scoop.
