Ep. 4: Protagonist joins Higuchi as disciple after Ozu arrives first, facing mysterious tasks and a quest for a magical brush.

The protagonist attempts to become Higuchi’s first disciple but arrives fifteen minutes late, allowing Ozu to claim the position. Higuchi assigns both men trivial tasks, leaving the protagonist uncertain about his training. Akashi joins their group, and the protagonist is tasked with locating a mystical tortoise brush capable of cleaning almost anything, with Akashi providing assistance. Upon finding the brush, Higuchi reveals that the protagonist has been selected as a successor in a proxy war against Jogasaki. Jogasaki appoints Ozu as their representative, exposing Ozu’s role as a double agent. Higuchi departs, leaving the protagonist to navigate the ongoing proxy conflicts, the original purpose of which has been forgotten over time.
