Odion urges Marik's good side to resist Yami Marik, who attacks with the Millennium Rod. Ignoring Ishizu, Odion reminds Marik that his hatred created Yami, granting the good half power to destroy him. As Yami Marik prepares a final blow, the good Marik emerges to fight for body control, stalling long enough for Yugi to play Ragnarok. This spell destroys Ra, allowing Marik to regain control. A fragment of Yami Marik remains but fails to persuade Marik to seize the Millennium Items. Marik surrenders to Yugi, banishing Yami Marik to the Shadow Realm and ending the Battle City finals. Bakura and Mai return, and Marik reunites with his forgiving siblings. Yugi claims the three Egyptian God Cards. Kaiba initiates the Duel Tower's self-destruct sequence, granting everyone one hour to escape the island before it explodes.
