Humans have long waged war against the Fallen, demons exiled to the Barrens for their transgressions. General Mu Ryang leads a group of imperial hunters who capture Azazel, the ruler of the Fallen. Contrary to expectations, Azazel does not act as a cruel beast, but instead displays concern for his people, sacrificing himself to save them from human persecution. This encounter challenges Mu Ryang’s beliefs, making him reconsider the true nature of sin. Azazel intends to use the general’s shifting views to oppose Crown Prince Jeong Jin and end the long-standing war.
