Natsu no Hi to, Bokura to, Mahou

Four children—Mikami, Sakurai, Souma, and Hiiro—pass the time during summer vacation when Mikami throws his shoe down a staircase. It lands near a girl who takes it before running away. The group chases her but ends up in a strange town where their phones have no signal. A local man they ask about their location is unfamiliar with modern footwear, and the people and setting appear to be from an earlier era. The town’s appearance, the clothing, and the behavior of its residents all suggest they have arrived in 1959. The children find themselves in a time period far removed from their own, raising the question of how and why they ended up there.
