Takahashi has long admired his neighbor Shige, a blue-collar worker who helped him discover love. His nephew Haru, who lost the ability to speak due to childhood neglect, found comfort and healing in Shige's kindness. Takahashi, who has never been able to express his feelings, grows increasingly attached but remains unable to confess. His unspoken emotions intensify until he is unexpectedly seen by Shige kissing someone else in a car.
