Fune wo Amu

Employees at Genbu Shobou publishing company are featured in the story. Araki, an experienced editor in the dictionary department, seeks a successor as he nears retirement. Majime Mitsuya, a salesman with poor communication skills, meets Masashi Nishioka, Araki's outgoing and carefree coworker. Araki listens to their conversation and chooses to bring Majime into the department. The narrative centers on Majime and Masashi as they collaborate on creating a medium-sized Japanese dictionary called "The Great Passage."
