Cameron Strait is a mysterious sea area where many ships have been disappearing since long ago. There is a legend that a "white monster" lives there. The first deep-sea investigation robot developed by Reno, Goonon, heads into the deep sea with Atom and his friends to solve the mystery. However, the cowardly Goonon gets frightened at the slightest thing and runs away in a hurry. In fact, Reno made Goonon that way on purpose to make it easier to sense the dangers of the sea. Goonon is depressed and calls himself a coward, but Atom and Reno believe that Goonon will overcome his weaknesses. They find a ship graveyard in the deep sea. Dr. Poppotore, who had come to lead Atom and his friends, goes to search for the treasure that is said to be hidden there. That's when Goonon senses something.
