Ep. 14: Tatsumi and Esdeath face a modified Danger Beast on an isolated island before parting ways.

Syura uses his Shambala Imperial Arm to teleport Esdeath and Tatsumi to a remote island. There, they encounter a gigantic modified Danger Beast created by Dr. Stylish. After the creature repels Esdeath's attacks, Tatsumi slays it. As night falls, the two decide to share their backstories. Tatsumi fabricates his history, while Esdeath reveals her clan hunted Danger Beasts. Her father taught her that the strong survive and the weak fall. When a rival tribe attacked and killed her clan, her dying father insisted she live strongly. Consequently, she joined the Imperial army and became a skilled general. Esdeath attempts to hunt a flying Danger Beast, but Syura’s teleport field appears. They return to the mountains, where Tatsumi flees using his Incursio. Suspecting they will be enemies next time, he realizes Esdeath cannot be convinced.
