EP 1Ai visits Neo-Venezia and discovers the charm of its slow pace through Akari's guidance.
Oct 6, 2005Ai arrives at Aria Company and requests a gondola tour from Akari, bypassing the Single rank restriction by posing as a friend. During their journey through Neo-Venezia, Ai expresses dislike for the city's inconveniences, prompting Akari to explain her appreciation for the slow pace. After practicing with Aika and sharing lunch, the group learns Ai’s initial prejudice stemmed from her sister’s honeymoon stories involving Alicia. When President Aria falls into the water, Alicia rescues him instead of Akari. By day’s end, Ai’s perspective shifts, leading her to request penpal status with Akari. Akari later reflects on this transformation as a miracle to her mentor, Alicia.
EP 2Akari shelters Aika during Neo-Venezia floods, revealing their complex bond with mentors Akira and Alicia.
Oct 13, 2005During Neo-Venezia's annual flooding, Akari takes refuge in Aika's Himeya Company room, observing staff deference to the heir. After mentor Akira reprimands Aika for idleness, they argue, leading Aika to stay overnight at Aria Company. A flashback reveals how Alicia inspired Aika to become an undine. The next morning, Akira demands Aika's return, and trainees discover the mentors' lifelong rivalry. Akira proposes a gondola race to decide Aika's residence, but Aika cancels it mid-race, choosing to return to Himeya Company because she respects Akira for challenging her. They return with walnut bread as an apology. Akari recognizes the underlying friendship between Aika and Akira, hoping to emulate such a bond with Alicia.
EP 3Akari and Aika meet Alice and the apprentice Akatsuki during a day of rowing and weather station tours.
Oct 20, 2005While training in a strait with difficult currents, Akari and Aika witness the impressive rowing skills of a younger girl, Alice. She bluntly refuses their attempts at friendship but is troubled by Akari's sincere smile. The next day, after Alice turns down schoolmates' request for her autograph on a magazine article about her, a classmate tells Alice she should at least have smiled. That afternoon, Akari meets Akatsuki, an apprentice salamander (weather controller), who asks to be given a city tour as a 'friend' as she practices. As Alice passes them, she interprets Akatsuki's teasing of Akari as harassment, but after Akari explains she invites Alice along. Alice remains fascinated by Akari's smile, and after she finally smiles herself says she understands the secret of Akari's smile. At the end of the day, Akatsuki invites the two on a tour of the floating weather station where he lives, and the two girls are impressed by the sunset view.
EP 4Akari delivers a mysterious letter to an abandoned terraforming base in the Adriatic.
Oct 27, 2005President Aria guides Akari to a square where a girl with a belled collar entrusts her with a letter. Mr. Mailman identifies the contents as an outdated video card format and locates the destination: an abandoned terraforming base in the Adriatic. During gondola practice, Aria leads Akari to an unfamiliar canal, where the girl explains the message can transcend time and space before entering a house as Ami. Woody, a sylph deliveryman, flies Akari to the base on his sky-cycle. They discover only a cemetery remains above water. Akari finds the recipient's gravestone and plays the video, revealing a woman named Ami writing to her husband working on Mars, now called Aqua. Akari recognizes the background from her second meeting with Ami.
EP 5Akari and friends explore a hidden island cove after receiving mysterious invitations.
Nov 3, 2005Akari travels to an Adriatic island following an anonymous invitation, where she meets Aika and Alice. They discover a secluded cove populated by Alicia, Akira, and the missing Athena. The group engages in morning training involving rowing unstable logs to improve balance. Afterward, they swim in the afternoon, an activity Akari cherishes because swimming is impossible in the oceans of Manhome. When Akari loses a hair ribbon, she recalls a childhood memory of losing a similar item. That night, she shares her childhood belief in Neverland with Alicia, who explains that important feelings are merely buried. Following this conversation, Akari retrieves her lost ribbon from the water.
EP 6Alice Punishes Her Useless Hand While Hiding a Kitten with Athena's Help
Nov 10, 2005Akari stays overnight at Orange Planet with Alice, who punishes her left hand for being useless. Alice reveals a forbidden kitten named Maa-kun hidden in her wardrobe and introduces Athena, her clumsy mentor and one of the Three Great Water Fairies. Akari observes Athena subtly supporting Alice, such as masking Maa-kun’s cries with song. Akari reassures Alice that her left hand has value, and the next day, Alice notices she can hold notebooks with it. However, Maa-kun disappears after school. Akari and Alice search for the missing pet until Athena sings to reveal him. Athena admits she knew about the kitten all along and informs Alice that Maa-kun has been named Orange Company's president to replace the recently deceased leader.
EP 7Akira trains the trio in canals, leading to a maze challenge and shared pizza
Nov 17, 2005Akira conducts canal training for Akari, Aika, and Alice, initially criticizing their skills. During a morning gondola tour, a honeymoon couple observes and requests to watch the afternoon session, impressed by Akira’s professionalism. The couple discovers she is a strict trainer. When Alicia delivers snacks, the woman identifies her as one of the Three Great Water Fairies. Later, Akira traps the trainees in a canal maze created by rising tides and bridges. After failing individually, they collaborate: Alice spots a current in an abandoned building, Akari rows, and Aika navigates with a lantern. Akira buys them pizza and declines to reprimand them for their failure, noting their existing remorse.
EP 8President Aria's Cleaning Mishap and Cat Hero Impersonation Adventure
Nov 24, 2005During a late-summer cleaning of the Aria Company building, President Aria attempts to assist Akari and Alicia but only hinders their progress. Feeling dejected, he flees the scene, leaving a note that the women misinterpret as a request for solitude. They fail to notice his absence until dinner, when he returns due to hunger and loneliness. In the subsequent segment, Aria dons a mask and cape to emulate a favorite cat superhero from a comic book. He attempts to perform anonymous heroic deeds to impress others, yet his identity is easily recognized by everyone despite his efforts to conceal it. After overcoming various obstacles, he successfully returns a stuffed animal dropped by a girl, concluding his day with a sense of accomplishment.
EP 9Aika and friends visit retired undine Akino for guidance on their training.
Dec 1, 2005Aika, Alice, and Akari learn about Akino, the former top undine of Neo-Venezia and founder of Aria Company. Feeling stuck in her training, Aika joins her friends to visit Akino, who now lives in the countryside. Akino asks for help with household chores, which Aika interprets as professional exercises. She views collecting chestnuts as identifying customers and digging up sweet potatoes as handling fragile cargo. However, Alice demonstrates quiet efficiency while Akari enjoys the simple tasks, both achieving more than Aika. Later, under the stars, Akino advises that true mastery comes from enjoying every moment rather than forcing results. The trainees wish to become great undines as they watch shooting stars.
EP 10Akari and Alicia enjoy a winter holiday involving snow bugs and a communal hot spring.
Dec 8, 2005Akari and Alicia gather firewood, allowing Akari to keep a snow bug companion. Alicia invites the trainees to a hot spring, noting Akari has never visited. While Mr. Mailman and Akari watch sunset smoke, he praises her hair bow, and Alicia lights the fireplace. At the communal bath, Akari feels guilty about skipping practice, but Alicia explains hot springs help endure winter. Akari agrees, citing snow bugs, sunsets, and fireplaces as reasons to like the season. Alicia shows them a secret ocean-connected corner. Akira and Athena join them. As snow falls, the snow bugs migrate to the forest, including Akari's.
EP 11The mentors recount their past with prodigy Athena, prompting reflections on the future of the trio.
Dec 15, 2005Akari, Aika, and Alice return to Aria Company after practice to find their three mentors talking, and learn they once also did combined training but have seldom all met together since becoming Primas (full undines). In flashbacks, their mentors tell the story of how Alicia and Akira as Singles hear of Orange Planet's new prodigy; when they meet a Single from Orange Planet named Athena, Akira asks about this unknown rival, but Athena is unable to answer her. They invite her to train with them, and soon realize that Athena is neither as graceful a rower as Alicia nor as adept a guide as Akira. However, when they practice singing one day, Athena's voice is so beautiful that passersby stop and applaud, and Akira realizes Athena had been the prodigy all along. In the present, Alice realizes that her trio will also break up after they become Primas, and Alicia tells her that it is important to enjoy the present and not regret what has been - or will be - lost. When Akari escorts Aika and Alice home, she begins to cry after they part ways.
EP 12Akari crosses a bridge to meet Akiko in Neo-Venezia's past before terraforming
Dec 22, 2005Akari visits a snowy bridge outside Neo-Venezia and encounters a sunny, dry canal where she meets Akiko. Akiko does not recognize Akari’s uniform or the term undine, leading both to assume they are new immigrants. Akari notices a memory card format identical to one from episode 4 and realizes she has traveled to the past before Neo-Venezia was built. People gather nearby to witness the arrival of water from terraforming, viewing it as a sign that Aqua has accepted the colonists. Akiko deduces Akari’s origin from her comments and explains that cats link the past and future. After bidding farewell to her future, Akari crosses back over the bridge, returning to the snow of her own time.
EP 13Akari and Alicia visit Piazza San Marco for New Year's with Ai
Dec 29, 2005For New Year's, Akari accompanies Alicia to Piazza San Marco, where Ai arrives unexpectedly. Ai reunites with Akari's friends, including Akatsuki, Woody, Aika, Akira, Grandma Akino, Alice, and Athena, whom she knows only through letters, but embarrasses Akari by revealing private gossip. When President Aria flees into the crowd, Akari and Ai chase his footprints through the snow to an old canal. They witness snow-free buildings from Akiko's era and cats like Ami. A ringing bell restores their city, and they view the vision as Aqua accepting Ai. They return to the Piazza for midnight celebrations until sunrise. Rowing home, Akari and Alicia exchange New Year's greetings, while Akari silently hopes for happiness for all residents of the beautiful planet.
