After being rescued by the Firebird in a space-time labyrinth, Rock returns to Earth to test his abilities. He goes to Phoenix Island, where ancient ruins are located, and uses his supernatural powers to control Dr. Lyon. Under the guise of research, Rock brings Atom and Dr. Ochanomizu to the island. Upon arrival, they investigate the ruins with Professor Atami, who is actually Rock in disguise. Atami suddenly locks Dr. Ochanomizu in an ancient prison. Rock intends to use Atom to regain his status as a super human. To save Dr. Ochanomizu, Atom is forced to comply with Rock's demands. As Atom submits, a door representing the path to becoming a super human appears before Rock.
