Gennosuke and Udono celebrate their clan union while hidden threats emerge. The Shogun has secretly annulled the truce, though Gennosuke senses tension. Akeginu attempts to kill Jousuke, who misinterprets her actions as romantic interest. She suggests a friendly ninpou battle, but Udono interrupts them. Gennosuke realizes he is being watched by an Iga with malicious intent. Outside, Udono discovers Jingorou stalking Gennosuke in a semi-liquid form and punishes him. Later, Jousuke confronts Jingorou to learn why he targeted Gennosuke. Jingorou reveals the truth by creeping inside Jousuke and killing him, ending the confrontation with a fatal surprise.
