Ep. 12: Four ninjas execute a plan to destroy the Murakumo while facing a deadly ambush
Rui, Shichigen, Shaizou, and Utsutsu depart to destroy the Murakumo following Gorone's plan. Hachisu and Shikibu soon return to the village. The four approach the target by boat, with Rui and Shichigen preparing to fight defending Rain fighters. Shichigen recalls learning to control insects. Rui distracts enemies while Shichigen attacks, but they fall into a trap and face heavy rifle fire, leaving Shichigen wounded in the thigh. Hibiki, Hachisu, and re-armored Shikibu leave to follow. Surrounded, Rui and Shichigen meet Hachiro. Using insect control and his Dojutsu technique, Hachiro defeats most Rain fighters, while Rui eliminates the last survivor. Shichigen remembers his mother's death by a samurai and naming his technique "Wind Through the Pines".
