Finral teleports Nero to the bones, removing magic stones from Patry’s tablet to place in the First Wizard King’s statue, causing it to crack. After Asta saves Rhya and Mimosa, he is swallowed by the mass but finds his anti-magic grants immunity. Nozel directs Asta, Yuno, and Patry to assist Yami while he takes Mimosa elsewhere. As the statue crumbles, it transforms back into Lumiere Silvamilllion Clover, and Nero reverts to Secre Swallowtail. They instantly travel to the Shadow Palace, where Secre recalls events from 500 years ago. She remembers serving Lumiere, who created magic tools and advocated for equality. On the day of his sister’s wedding to Licht, a devil manipulated their family into murdering elves. Lumiere escaped too late, allowing Zagred to create the original 5 leaf Grimoire. Zagred then attempted to possess Licht, who used forbidden magic to become a giant demon before asking Lumiere to kill him.

In the present, Asta, Yuno, and Patry confront Zagred as Lumiere and Secre arrive, awakening Licht's soul. The group fights together, realizing Zagred's magic mass grows while he lives. Licht uses the remaining elves' power to activate the Demon Dweller Sword's true potential to destroy Zagred. However, Zagred's heart survives and regenerates, proving that magic from their dimension cannot kill him. Feb 4, 2020As Zagred dies, Liebe gloats within Asta's Grimoire. Rades and Valtos save everyone from the consuming Shadow Palace via portals, revealing elves still attacking the city. Patry explains Vangeance's World Tree Magic can defeat them. Asta nullifies reincarnation, waking Vangeance, who thanks Patry for ending his suffering. Vangeance combines his magic with Licht to connect elf souls to the tree. Asta strikes the tree, ending reincarnations so souls pass on, except Vetto, Rhya, and Fana, who choose to live in their new artificial bodies. Yuno realizes the elf inside him was Licht, Tetia's unborn son, and Licht thanks Yuno. Rades captures Patry's soul, reanimating it in Licht's cloned body to atone for his crimes, which Patry accepts. William asks Yami to take him to the Wizard King's body. Asta introduces Lumiere and Secre. Lumiere sees his ideal world becoming reality, then runs out of magic. As his stone body crumbles, he asks Secre to protect the Kingdom and live her own life.

Feb 11, 2020Yami and William find the Wizard King alive due to 13 years stored in a magic tool in case he was ever killed, rendering his body of a 13 year old. Julius orders William to help with the recovery effort. Julius reveals to Yami, Asta, Mimosa, Noelle, and Secre that his younger body has far less magic, meaning he has less influence over the selfish nobles and will be unable to protect the kingdom from attack. He also worries Asta may die; as his power is demonic and since it was a devil who attacked the kingdom, the Magic Parliament will probably blame Asta then execute him. Secre confirms that Asta's demon form as well as the horns on her head could be used as evidence they had contact with devils. Mimosa explains the Magic Parliament are royals and nobles who create laws and preside over trials for serious crimes. Meanwhile the Clover King credits Sekke for saving him, despite it being an accident. They are attacked by anti-royalists hoping to assassinate the king amid the confusion, but they are saved by Damnatio Kira, Chairman of the Magic Parliament. Asta and Secre are asked to testify before the Parliament, but when they arrive they are arrested by Damnatio who demands evidence of the devil behind the attack. When Asta can provide none Damnatio decides to simply charge the people possessed by the elves as normal criminals. Damnatio brings in Marie, Gauche's sister, and orders her immediately executed for her actions during the battle, forcing Asta to assume his demon form to save her, revealing himself to the entire Parliament, just as Damnatio wanted him to.

Feb 18, 2020The Magic Parliament demands Asta’s execution, threatening Marie, Father Orsi, Sister Lily, and church orphans. Henry’s Raging Black Bull destroys the Parliament, prompting the Black Bulls to demand Asta’s freedom or face war. Yami refuses to abandon Secre, granting her a team robe. When Damnatio uses Scale Magic to shrink spells, Asta nullifies it with the Demon Destroyer Sword. Fuegoleon and Nozel intervene, revealing the Wizard King ordered the Black Bulls to investigate the devil race to prove Asta’s innocence. Forced to comply, Damnatio warns of execution if they fail. She later found hope sensing a power capable of defeating Zagred on the day Asta and Yuno were left at the orphanage.

Magna and Luck fight again, while Gauche, Grey, and Gordon are attacked by the beasts. Finral, Charmy, and Vanessa are also targeted after getting distracted by wine and food. Magna and Luck face the beasts after exhausting their magic. Yami is disturbed on the toilet but realizes the beasts missed him, remembering he found them as babies after their parents were hunted by bored nobles. Upon arrival, they learn the Queen intends to steal Asta’s devil power. Gaja, a Spirit Guardian, guides them through a river flowing uphill within the Queen’s massive Mana Zone. He notes that every queen for 1200 years has pacted with Undine. Asta is kidnapped and taken to the palace, where Undine ranks his devil form at the weak 9th Stage. Noelle is 1st Stage, while Mimosa and Finral are 3rd Stage. Gaja, likely Zero Stage, fights the others. Noelle, Mimosa, and Finral land a powerful attack, allowing Secre to free Asta, who then attacks a nearby ki presence.

Julius pardons Gueldre in exchange for profit generation to cover repair costs, halving all Captains' salaries.
