Ep. 1: Black Jack Regains License After Treating Detective's Son with Paget's Disease

Black Jack treats Detective Takasugi’s son, who suffers from Paget's Disease, to regain his medical license. He refuses bureaucratic registration and is arrested for practicing without one. While imprisoned, Italian billionaire Mr. Boccherini begs him to save his grandson. The Japan Medical Association head denies release despite bribery. Dr. White performs the surgery using robotic aids. Boccherini reports a miraculous recovery, but Black Jack suspects the outcome is too radical. The boy subsequently dies. Enraged, the billionaire arranges for the medical association head’s son to be shot. The father pleads with Black Jack to save the boy. Black Jack agrees to perform the operation, but demands an outrageous sum of money for his services.
