Pinoko refuses to believe Black Jack is dead, digging through their bombed house rubble. She stays at Tetsu’s diner before reluctantly joining a hospital family. Black Jack survived the blast by Benitokage, aided by Toriton and fishermen. He hides to protect Pinoko and friends, suspecting the bomb resembles one from 21 years ago. Investigating, he finds a photo in Dr. Honma’s old clinic with Honma, Kreutuzer, and his father. After Pinoko locates him, Jack emerges from hiding to pursue the assassins.
