Black Jack is abducted after work and compelled to perform surgery on an injured thief. His captors, including the victim's brother and a third associate, take him aboard a boat but soon become lost at sea. As the patient's health declines and the third bandit deteriorates mentally from starvation and terror, a dolphin is captured and brought onto the vessel. Black Jack intervenes to save the animal's life and releases it. In gratitude, the dolphin leads the boat back to Japan, ultimately sacrificing its own life in the process.
