Lurichiyo Kasumiouji, a Soul Society noble princess, visits Karakura Town with assistants Ryuusei "Kenryuu" Kenzaki and Ruzaburou "Enryuu" Enkougawa to buy sweets. While her guards depart, Lurichiyo wanders alone and is attacked by hollows. Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki respond to increased hollow activity in the area. Ichigo encounters Lurichiyo during the assault and defeats the enemies using his bankai, which impresses her guards. The next day, Lurichiyo, Kenryuu, and Enryuu move into the house next to Ichigo’s residence and enroll as students at his school. This event occurs within the New Captain Shuusuke Amagai arc.
