Ichigo and Rukia escort Lurichiyo through town before dining at Ichigo’s home. An argument over carrots causes Ichigo to accidentally disclose that Kenryuu and Enryuu hired him as a bodyguard. Enraged, Lurichiyo runs to a river and encounters Orihime Inoue. An assassin wielding a guan dao attacks them, using energy blasts to create solid rock walls. Ichigo, Rukia, Kenryuu, and Enryuu arrive to intervene. Kenryuu employs his shikai to immobilize the attacker, enabling Ichigo to defeat him. The assassin then commits suicide by collapsing a rock wall upon himself. Later, Hanza Nukui, Kumoi’s head assassin, retrieves the weapon. The following morning, Kenryuu and Enryuu discover Lurichiyo is missing.
