Trapped in a separate dimension, Ichigo relives his childhood and his mother's death, facing a manifestation of his guilt that attempts to kill him. He escapes by making peace with her image. Back in the physical world, Ichigo wears his hollow mask to overpower Hanza, compelling him to let his bakoutou absorb more energy. Hanza ignores Ichigo's warnings and is consumed by the bakoutou. Simultaneously, in the Soul Society, Kira secretly follows Kibune to the Kasumiouji compound. There, Kuzuryuu reports his comrades' deaths to Kumoi, who subsequently orders Kibune to execute him. This segment is part of the New Captain Shuusuke Amagai arc, specifically entry 11 out of 22.
