Ichigo starts battling Amagai but struggles against the effects of the bakoutou. To overcome this limitation, Ichigo activates his hollow mask, which allows him to bypass the negation capabilities of the bakoutou. Amagai targets the mask directly, yet Ichigo manages to strike back with a Getsuga Tenshou. Following the injury, Amagai expresses his willingness to die for revenge and attempts to draw additional power from the bakoutou. This confrontation occurs within the context of the New Captain Shuusuke Amagai arc, specifically noted as part 21 out of 22 episodes.
