Ep. 184: Kira and Kibune, Offense and Defense of the 3rd Division
Ichigo, Rukia, Amagai, and Shuu evade Thirteen Court Guard Squads patrols to reach the third division training grounds, where Lurichiyo was last seen. Kira battles Kibune, initially gaining an edge by using his shikai to increase the weight of Kibune's zanpakutou. Kibune counters with his bakoutou to negate this effect. During the fight, Kibune explains he was ostracized by the Thirteen Court Guard Squads for failing to protect weaker division members during missions. He was subsequently assigned to a squad specializing in hunting hollows. Kibune claims the bakoutou will provide him with the power necessary to earn respect from the Thirteen Court Guard Squads. This segment is part of The New Captain Shuusuke Amagai arc, specifically episode 17 out of 22.
