Nnoitra pins Ichigo to the ground and uses Nel as a shield while preparing to break his arm. The emotional intensity causes Nel to revert to her original adult form, Neliel. Pesche and Dondochakka recognize the transformation and feel nostalgic. Neliel removes Ichigo from the battlefield and confronts Nnoitra, revealing she was the former Third Espada. She overpowers him, but Nnoitra fires a cero blast in desperation. Neliel uses Cero Doble to absorb and redirect the attack with doubled force. Despite this, Nnoitra remains relatively unharmed and reveals that the Espada have grown stronger during her absence.
