Hitsugaya and Rangiku cease their conflict upon receiving orders to attack the Kasumiouji clan, allowing the remaining divisions to assault the compound. Yamamoto explains that he suspected the clan’s crimes but required Ichigo’s concrete evidence to act. Enraged by the invasion, Kumoi deploys all his assassins against the Soul Reapers. Rukia and Shuu locate Kumoi, who is holding Lurichiyo hostage, and learn of his ambition to control the Soul Society’s nobility. Amagai arrives, kills Kumoi, and teleports to Yamamoto’s location with Lurichiyo. This event concludes the New Captain Shuusuke Amagai arc, specifically episode 19 out of 22.
