Zommari Rureaux activates his Zanpakuto, growing eyes that manipulate objects he observes. He controls Byakuya’s limbs, forcing the Shinigami to sever his own tendons to regain freedom. Byakuya directs Hanatarou Yamada to evacuate Rukia, but Zommari hijacks Rukia to attack Hanatarou. After threatening Rukia’s life to prevent Byakuya’s interference, he immobilizes her with Kidou. Byakuya then releases his Bankai, surrounding Zommari with thousands of microscopic blades that overwhelm the Arrancar in this eighth installment of the Arrancar vs. Shinigami arc.
