Rukia regains consciousness while Byakuya advises her to rest for upcoming battles. Kenpachi fights Nnoitra, and Orihime heals Nel at Ichigo's request. Mayuri swallows Szayel Aporro using his Bankai but accidentally poisons Uryuu and Renji. Szayel Aporro resurrects by absorbing Nemu's spiritual particles via his Gabriel technique. He inadvertently ingests a superhuman drug from Nemu that heightens his senses, causing sensory overload that immobilizes him. Mayuri notes that one second feels like a century to the paralyzed enemy. He then stabs Szayel Aporro through the hand and finally pierces his heart, ending the threat.
