Rangiku Matsumoto and Nanao Ise face obstacles in the Dangai while returning home after restoring barriers near Karakura Town. Their captains worry until they return a day later, revealing time discrepancies between the Dangai and the Soul Society. Mayuri Kurotsuchi surveys the area with Kenpachi Zaraki as escort. Meanwhile, Kon discovers a green-haired girl, angering Ichigo Kurosaki. Mayuri and Kenpachi encounter intense light from Dangai walls. Ichigo and Rukia flee the revived Koutotsu, with Ichigo using his bankai to reach the Soul Society before losing his powers. He is confined by Toushirou Hitsugaya and Byakuya Kuchiki. A scientist addresses body doubles of Izuru Kira and Nanao in a laboratory.
