Hitsugaya visits Haru, a lonely spirit-seer in the real world, accompanied by Karin Kurosaki. They encounter Yosuke, a shy child spirit who died in a skiing accident and longs to see snow. Hitsugaya hesitates to send him to the Soul Society due to this wish. While staying at Karin's house, he is mistaken for her boyfriend. Haru is revealed to have been suppressing Yosuke’s transformation into a hollow using her spiritual energy. As she weakens, Yosuke goes out of control. Haru, trapped in his hand, restrains him, allowing Hitsugaya to deliver the final blow. Snow begins falling in Karakura Town, enabling Yosuke to depart peacefully. Karin bids Hitsugaya farewell, and he plans to visit his grandmother in the Rukongai.
