Lieutenants engage the reigai of Hitsugaya, Komamura, Byakuya, and Kenpachi while Ichigo and Nozomi care for Ikkaku. Despite being ordered to retreat, Nozomi intervenes, damaging Hitsugaya’s reigai and absorbing an attack from Uryuu’s Zanpakuto, Ginrei Kojaku. Uryuu deduces her ability to absorb spiritual pressure. Ichigo, Uryuu, Chad, and the surviving lieutenants channel their energy into Nozomi, who redirects it against the four false captains. Byakuya’s reigai survives the assault, but Genryusai Yamamoto arrives and defeats him, ending the immediate threat.
