Boruto attempts to unify the group, but conflicting morals cause friction. Rokuro identifies a Hidden Grass shinobi as Ouga's spy, leading Ouga to kill him with a curse mark under the guise of a test. The survivors enter a dark room where they must keep their candles lit while avoiding traps. Ouga reveals that only half the group may survive, forcing them to extinguish each other's flames. Rokuro's faction accepts this halving, but Boruto's team combines their candles into one long wick to bypass the rule. Ouga permits their advancement. Meanwhile, Sarada and Mitsuki interrogate a worker who assisted in capturing victims for Ouga's experiments, but he triggers a trap and dies before revealing information.
