Alphard confronts Natsume in the gardens, revealing his role as a Japanese Defense Intelligence Headquarters agent seeking Ua virus data. After separating from Maria and Yunyun, Canaan reunites with Minoru and returns to the factory. Inside, Liang Qi dies after consuming the virus without the necessary genetics for synaesthesia. Simultaneously, Task Force 124 deploys from Afghanistan to destroy the site. Canaan battles Delta Force operators and PLA troops while locating a grieving Hakko and Santana’s body. Hakko urges Canaan to leave her behind and retrieve medicine for Yunyun. Canaan escapes with her friends as the facility collapses, killing Hakko. The group mourns the loss of Hakko and Santana, after which Maria asks for a photograph of Canaan.
