Ep. 9: Tokoha and Akane reunite to settle a childhood time capsule before Akane departs for overseas.
While assisting Chrono with preparations for a youth Vanguard tournament, Tokoha reconnects with Akane Kiyosu, a childhood friend with whom she shares a sister-like bond. They recall burying a time capsule in a park containing secret gifts for each other. Tokoha discovers that Chrono retrieved the capsule during park construction at Akane’s request. Distraught by news that Akane is leaving Japan for an overseas post the following day, Tokoha decides to challenge her to a cardfight at the airport as a farewell. During the match, Akane reassures Tokoha that her departure marks a new beginning. After Tokoha wins, Akane presents her with a gold medal from the capsule. As Akane departs on the plane, she opens Tokoha’s gift: a special card drawing of herself created by young Tokoha.
