Oct 2, 2016Time has passed, and the members of Team TRY3 have gone their separate ways as they enter high school. Tokoha is studying abroad in France, Shion is attending Fukuhara High, and Chrono enrolls in Tokyo Metropolitan Harumi High School. However, Chrono has a hard time adjusting to his new school life. Later, while working at Card Capital 2, Chrono is challenged to a cardfight by a peculiar young man, who soundly defeats him with his Nubatama deck. Before leaving, the man reveals his name to Chrono: Kazumi Onimaru. Upon learning that Onimaru is the reigning "Under 20" Vanguard champion, Chrono decides to enter the U20 Championship.

Taiyou summons the police, who arrive at the scene to arrest the gang members, resolving the hostage situation and allowing Chrono to go free.
12EP 12Striders Face Elimination in U20 Qualifier Without Kazuma
Dec 18, 2016Chrono’s team, Striders, competes in a U20-qualifying tournament at the first Card Capital shop. This event serves as their final opportunity to secure a spot in the U20 division. With Kazuma absent, Chrono and Taiyou must navigate the bracket alone. The duo advances to the grand finals against Team Trinity Dragon. During the first game, Taiyou is defeated by Karl. Misaki informs Chrono that if Kazuma does not arrive within ten minutes, Striders will forfeit by default. Kazuma appears at the last possible second to participate in the second game against Kei, saving the team from elimination.
13EP 13Chrono defeats Tsuneto in the decisive match to win the tournament and qualify for the U20.
Dec 25, 2016After Kazuma defeats Kei, the final match is set between Chrono and Tsuneto. Team Trinity Dragon has significantly improved their skills through training at Card Capital #1, causing Chrono to struggle during the battle. Despite the increased difficulty posed by Tsuneto's enhanced abilities, Chrono manages to defeat him. This victory allows Chrono to win the tournament and qualify his team for the U20 competition.
