Mina, Yuki, Veratos, Nanami, and Yuzuru relax at the estate pool while Akira spends time with Mei Ren. They discuss cleomes and a tragic butterfly story in the garden. Veratos receives a call about three ships approaching the Vampire Bund. Mei Ren reveals her goal was to test Akira's recently restored but currently lost memory. Mina asks Yuki to keep the Three Clans secret, but Yuki informs Akira anyway. Rozenmann, Ivanovic, and Li lead the Three Clans to the Bund, challenging Mina's nobility. She must marry within her lineage to produce an heir. The clan leaders send assassins to kill Akira by daybreak, with the winner marrying Mina. Mina learns Akira's different lineage and lifespan make him unsuitable for marriage.
