Ep. 40: The DigiDestined face the Dark Masters' overwhelming power in the Digital World.

The DigiDestined return to the Digital World and meet Chuumon, who mourns his lost friend Sukamon. They discover that four Mega-level Digimon known as the Dark Masters have seized control of the realm while the group was in Tokyo. The children’s Digimon evolve to Champion forms to battle MetalSeadramon, then to Ultimate forms against Machinedramon, but they are swiftly defeated. Puppetmon reverses their evolution, leaving them vulnerable. Piedmon, the leader, easily overpowers WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon and kills Chuumon. As the Dark Masters prepare to eliminate the children, Piximon intervenes. He sacrifices himself to protect the DigiDestined, allowing them to escape the imminent threat.
