Rika and Renamon face internal conflict regarding their mutual dependence for strength. Renamon battles a swarm of hostile Flybeemon, defeating them while reflecting on Impmon’s advice about achieving power without a human tamer. Subsequently, she encounters Harpymon and loses her abilities. Just as Harpymon threatens to destroy Renamon, Rika intervenes by stabbing the attacker with a tree branch. This act allows Renamon to escape and digivolve into Kyubimon in time. Kyubimon easily defeats Harpymon but chooses not to absorb her data, realizing that her bond with Rika is essential for true power. Following this realization, Kyubimon and Rika reconcile their differences and restore their partnership.
