Impmon frightens couples in the park at night, leading Takato to suspect Guilmon is responsible. After Impmon takes Guilmon away, Takato’s suspicion grows when he finds his partner missing. Upon returning, Guilmon admits to scaring a couple, causing Takato to become furious. Later, Devidramon attacks, and Renamon declines to intervene, insisting it is Guilmon’s battle alone. Takato eventually forgives Guilmon after discovering the truth about Impmon’s involvement. Empowered by this understanding, Guilmon digivolves into Growlmon and defeats Devidramon, resolving the conflict and restoring trust between the partners.
