Ep. 1: Hyakkimaru’s Origin Story and First Encounter with Dororo

At Cloud Dragon Temple, warlord Daigo Kagemitsu sacrifices his unborn child to 48 demons for power. The infant, born with 48 missing body parts, is abandoned by his mother. Years later, ronin Hyakkimaru defeats enemy soldiers using his sword-arms. In a nearby village, young thief Dororo attempts to steal a sword but fails. After helping a starving monk, Dororo finds the man dead. He then steals food from bandits, gets beaten, and thrown into a river. Hyakkimaru saves him, and a spirit emerges to consume the bandit leader. Hyakkimaru destroys the spirit. Dororo wishes to follow him, but Hyakkimaru reveals his fake eyes to frighten him away.
