Ep. 48: A Shocking Surprise! Shenron Is Our Enemy?!

The new dragon proves to be pure evil, absorbing the Dragon Balls before splitting into seven separate dragons that fly away. Elder Kai explains that each use of the Dragon Balls accumulates negative energy, which normally requires 100 years to dissipate. The balls scatter after use to allow this process, but Bulma’s invention of the dragon radar enabled rapid retrieval and frequent summoning of Shenron. This overloading of negative energy resulted in the creation of the Shadow Dragons. While the group blames Bulma, she deflects responsibility to Goku, noting she could not have found the balls without his assistance. Feeling guilty for the frequent usage, Goku sets out to defeat the dragons before they destroy the universe. He follows their destructive trail with Pan and Giru, who carries the dragon radar, and they encounter a two-star dragon destroying a village.
