Trunks, Gohan, and Bulma examine the second time machine while Gohan discovers a discarded shell from an unknown creature. Bulma views news reports of thousands of inexplicable disappearances in Gingertown, where victims vanished leaving their clothes behind. Witnessing these deaths, Kami merges with Piccolo. The resulting being declares himself a Namekian who has forgotten his name and leaves the Lookout. He arrives in the silent town of Gingertown, where a monster emerges from the shadows to face him.
