Ep. 64: Androids 17 and 18 awaken as Dr. Gero meets his end in his laboratory.

Dr. Gero reaches his lab while pursued by Krillin, with Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Trunks arriving shortly after. Gero has already activated Androids 17 and 18, who assert their independence by destroying his remote control and attempting to wake the failed model, Android 16. Android 17 kills Gero by crushing his head. Trunks fires a ki blast to stop Android 16's activation, but the explosion fails to destroy the pod or the androids. The trio proceeds to hunt Goku, but Vegeta intervenes and challenges them to a fight. Androids 16 and 17 refuse, leaving Android 18 to face Vegeta alone.
