They meet Shiki, a human boy raised there who serves as the robots' mechanic. Rebecca initially resists his friendship but warms to him after seeing his bond with the machines. She learns he stayed to care for them and failed to repair his adoptive grandfather, Demon King Ziggy. The robots suddenly turn aggressive due to a staged virus, dismissing Shiki's skills to force him to leave. Shiki uses his gravity Ether Gear ability to help Rebecca and Happy escape in their ship, the Aqua Wing. The robots shut down to save Shiki from solitude. Elsie notes their absence and identifies Norma as a dead world. After crash-landing at Weisz's residence, the group is held at gunpoint by a stranger claiming the professor's identity. A flash-forward set 20,000 years later shows astronauts discovering human remains and Rebecca's recording device, which bears the inscription "Edens Zero."

Homura recovers and reunites with Rebecca’s group, thanking her friends for helping her overcome her grief.
