Remembering his brother's advice, he attempts to intervene but is crushed by a truck. He awakens as an Ex-Arm, a powerful weapon. Police officers struggling against an enemy use Akira to turn the tide. Although Akira defeats the Ex-Arm wielder Through Hand by pinning his hand to a wall, he and the officers are disarmed for disobeying orders. Consequently, Akira Natsume is declared an enemy of humanity.

Upon arrival, they encounter Elmira, an android serving Mraw, who arrives piloting a Bibot. She utilizes a mysterious ability similar to an EX-ARM, causing her targets to vanish completely. Akira and his squad find themselves helpless against this devastating power. Just as the situation seems dire, additional equipment dispatched by Shiga arrives at the scene, potentially altering the outcome of the confrontation.

Feb 1, 2021Akira connects to the Iriya Heavy Industries combat exoframe known as Ogre. Despite this being his first time operating the machine, he controls it with ease and launches an attack against Elmira's Bibot. During the confrontation, Elmira states that combat serves as their sole purpose in life. This revelation triggers a partial recovery of Akira's memories, causing him to lose control and go berserk within the Ogre. In this frenzied state, he defeats both Elmira and Mraw. The situation is eventually resolved when Minami and Alma intervene to bring Akira back to his senses.

The government tasks the Counter Squad with an undercover mission to investigate the sale, assigning them to serve as bodyguards for Jinkokusha, the dominant faction in the Japanese underworld. The team quickly becomes entangled in violent conflicts between rival groups. During the ensuing combat, Akira is knocked unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, he finds himself face-to-face with the Auctioneer, marking a tense conclusion to the initial investigation phase.

EP 8Beta Hostages Counter Squad While Akira Discovers His True Identity
Mar 1, 2021Beta holds Jinkokusha captive and draws the Counter Squad into the stadium, where they are joined by Al Jarde, Nguyen, and Auctioneer alongside EX-ARM Number 11. After rescuing Jinkokusha, Akira returns to the stadium, only to witness a squadron of JDF multipods landing and launching a chaotic attack on all visible targets, including the Counter Squad members.
