Hajime wakes in the Mavericks' home after losing his right eye, where a spell reveals a recording by Oscar Orcus, who deems Hajime worthy of the truth regarding the Maverick and God war. After Hajime's classmates defeat the Behemoth, Oscar transfers his power and memories before vanishing. Hajime learns the Mavericks were Liberators and inherits Ancient Creation Magic to craft Artefacts. He buries Oscar, takes his portal ring, and spends over two months studying in Oscar's facilities, creating weapons and a prosthetic arm. Yue attempts to seduce him, prompting Hajime to warn her that his goals will oppose the Church and God Ehit. She vows to stay, and they teleport to the surface.

Shea Haulia, a Rabbit-girl, waits for Hajime and Yue, who initially ignore her annoying behavior. Upon arrival, Hajime eliminates monsters using Shea as bait. The rabbit-men request training to overcome their timidity. Shea leads them to the tree, which Hajime identifies as a labyrinth entrance requiring other labyrinths to be defeated first, indicated by a stone slab with ring slots. He encounters former classmates, specifically Aiko and Shimizu, who have arrived separately. When Shea calls out to him, Aiko tearfully demands to know his whereabouts, but Hajime remains cold and indifferent. An arrogant Templar Knight insults Shea, prompting Hajime to severely injure the knight, shocking his peers with his ruthless demeanor. Aiko vows to restore his humanity. Later, Hajime privately explains that the God Ehit manipulated the war for amusement, leading humans to become the Liberators, later branded as Mavericks by the Church. These Liberators created labyrinths to safeguard Ancient Magics for a worthy successor. Hajime also reveals that a classmate attempted to kill him. The following day, Aiko and the students insist on joining the mountain search to learn more about the Liberators.

Hajime utilizes transmuted drones linked to his jewel eye to locate adventurers in the mountains, discovering Will, the sole survivor of a monster and black dragon assault. During their return, the dragon attacks, prompting Hajime to strike it with his Pile Bunker weapon, designed to drive Azanthium stakes through any material. Shea assists by knocking the beast unconscious with Drucken. Instead of piercing the armor, Hajime inserts the stake into the dragon’s unarmored rear, causing the female Dragonborn to reveal her ability to shift into human form. She claims magical coercion forced her to attack Will and offers her knowledge as atonement. Yue persuades Hajime to spare her life. He removes the stake, and the dragon transforms into Tio, a masochistic young woman who admits to enjoying the pain. Tio then discloses that an unknown individual commands an army of 60,000 monsters and intends to assault the farming village.

The group is shocked to discover Hajime is still alive.

Kouki is outraged by the execution, prompting Hajime to berate him for weakness and threaten to kill anyone who opposes him. Kaori confesses her love, but Hajime rejects her because he loves Yue. Kaori insists on joining the team to compete with Yue. Shizuku keeps the indestructible sword, hinting at developing feelings for Hajime. While traveling in Hajime’s transmuted SUV, Kaori is furious to share the back seat with Shea and Tio, while Yue sits beside Hajime. Hajime remains determined to return to Japan, even if it means killing God.
