Survivors learn the zombie pandemic has spread globally. Takashi tests a theory that zombies react only to sound after meeting another group. When a survivor makes noise, they fight a horde to reach the bus, losing some people. Rei recognizes teacher Koichi Shido among approaching survivors and hesitates to let him board. After escaping the school, Rei opposes Shido’s self-appointed leadership and leaves the bus. Takashi follows her, but a zombie-filled bus crashes, trapping them in a tunnel. They later reunite with the other group. After defeating a zombie on a motorcycle, Takashi and Rei take the bike and head toward the city.
