Ep. 2: Sugimoto fights Gansoku in Stenka, leading to a wolverine attack and ice fall.

Sugimoto meets Maiharu Gansoku, a Japanese man in the Stenka audience, but they do not speak. The group refuses to throw their fight to retrieve their dog. Sugimoto battles Gansoku, who is their target, and survives a brutal beating. He kicks Gansoku, causing a riot, and chases him into the woods with a hammer and sickle. Koito, Tsukishima, and Tanigaki follow, finding Gansoku attacked by a wolverine. They shelter in a hot banya. Cikapasi and Enonoka rescue the dog but attract the wolverine. Sugimoto arrives to finish the fight, but Tanigaki helps Cikapasi shoot the animal. The commotion causes everyone to fall through the ice into freezing water. They return to the banya, where the cold water revives Sugimoto. They decide not to kill Gansoku, copy his tattoos, and suggest he flee deeper into Russian territory. Asirpa seal hunts with Kiroranke, Shiraishi, and Ogata.
